The highest attainable Order under the current house, the Order of Saint Brigid is awarded very rarely and is limited to 20 non-aristocratic members.

The Order of the Harp is limited to 13 living members. Membership is not granted to anybody who is of royal or noble blood, but it is still very selective in its membership.


The Order of the Shamrock is for people formerly recognised as Chief of the Name, but who is no longer due to the discovery of the existence of a more senior claimant.


The Order of Brian Boru is awarded to Irish citizens of great accomplishment and/or contribution to Ireland. Essentially, it almost exclusively awards civil merit.
